TBR Piles

Readers! I have a very important message for you, one that you absolutely cannot miss. Are you ready? Here it is: You should not be ashamed of your TBR pile, no matter how big or small. Yes, you heard me right. Do not let anyone tell you that you have too many books! There is no such thing. And here’s why.

Whether you have a manageable, years-worth or full bookshelves of books you’ve yet to read, there should be absolutely no shame associated with owning unread books. Being excited about and eager to read new books is nothing to turn your nose up at. If anything the larger the pile the more commendable in my opinion. Although, that may just be because I have a TBR pile numbering somewhere in the hundreds...

Whether your unread books are digital or physical, it’s a fantastic way to keep track of your reading habits and passions. If you want to get a better handle on your TBR pile, whether to begin tackling it or just to have a bit of clarity on which books you own, there are plenty of tactics:

  1. Sort by genre

  2. Sort them in the order in which you want to read them

  3. Sort by author (A-Z)

Whichever way you choose to organise your books, it’s really important to read the books you’re excited about. There's nothing worse than slogging through a book you’re not enjoying and reluctantly turning each page, knowing it doesn’t hold what you want, or need. Remember to mix things up a bit too, book after book of the same genre or theme can get boring. So be sure to switch things up and give yourself a bit of variety every once in a while.
