I want my readers to get to know me as more than a writer, or a reader, or a faceless name behind a screen that they’ve stumbled across. I'd love for you guys to get to know me as a person as well as for my passion for literature. So today, I'm sharing with you all my favourite hobbies.
Knitting
One of my favourite pastimes is knitting. While watching tv and relaxing, I like to grab a vibrant ball of wool and knit blankets. I only know one stitch, meaning I basically can only make blankets. My house is full of bright, fluffy knitted blankets I've knitted. They're also great donations for the homeless and my small circle of friends all have one in their favourite colours. I find keeping my hands busy while my brain winds down a great way to end the day.
Family-Time
I’m not sure this really counts as a hobby, but there’s nothing I love more than spending time with my family. While we’ve had our ups and downs, as all families have, my family has been my biggest critics but also my biggest cheerleaders. There for me through every milestone (graduating high school and university, my writing, my work). Playing with my nephews, sharing inside jokes with my sister and brother-in-law, scouring the markets with my mother, lunches with my dad and discussing books and gardening with my Nana are all cherished moments in my life.
Learning
I've said it before, but I love learning new things. Whether learning about psychology, mythology, belief systems or cultures, the practice of learning something new or broadening your perspective of the world is something that will never cease to infatuate me.
