March is going to be a very big month for me. I plan to add another work to the mix and, for the first time in my writing career, have a manuscript progress past its first draft stage and into editing. Steeling myself for a huge month, here is a full list of my goals for March:
1. Start Editing Book 1
My first goal for March is to read through my first draft of Forgotten Children of Avalon, the first book in the Avalonian Trilogy. This will allow me to complete a manuscript evaluation and determine where to focus and drill into editing my story. I want to begin my first round of editing this month. I'm super excited for this milestone; none of my works have ever made it past the first draft, so I’m reaching new heights in my writing career this month.
2. Write 20K Words of Book 2
Corruption of Avalon is still on the go. I wasn’t able to make my writing goal for February but I was burdened with many social engagements and family outings. I’m hoping to make March a turning point for the writing of my first draft of book two.
3. Read 8 Books
As a part of my reading goal for 2023 of 100 books, I will need to read 8 books in February to stay on track to achieve triple digits. I’ve adjusted my reading schedule to try fast-track my reading progress this month.
4. Finish Pre-Writing Book 3
I began jotting down major plot points for Restoration of Avalon, book three in the Avalonian Trilogy, last month. This month I’m going to flesh those out and put together a chapter-by-chapter outline so that I can focus solely on the first two books. That way, once book two’s first draft is complete, I'll be able to move straight on to book three.
5. Cover Key Writing Process Topics on Blog
This month there are some key topics I’d like to cover here on the blog. Essential points in the writing process from pre-writing right through to publication will eventually be analysed here, and there are a few poignant sections will be covered throughout March, so keep an eye out for these!
