We’ve reached the end of March and now it’s time to see how I've done with my goals. Ultimately, I had good success with writing and editing, mild success with reading, and little success with pre-writing.
1. Start editing book one
I have absolutely smashed this goal. My first edit on the Forgotten Children of Avalon manuscript is focused mainly on fixing plot issues and killing off some of my sub-plots. I'm already half way through the manuscript and having so much fun with it. This is the first time I've ever edited a finished manuscript, and I was so nervous to start, but I'm loving it.
2. Write 20K words
I actually nearly made this goal this month. I’ve written around 19K words. Didn't meet the goal, but I'm still quite proud of the progress I've made on Corruption of Avalon, book two in the Avalonian trilogy.
3. Read 8 Books
Fail. But I did get quite close! I've read 6 books this month, so really, that’s pretty much a win to me.
4. Finish pre-writing book 3
If I'm being completely honest, I totally forgot about this goal. I have not touched this at all this month. Try again in April.
5. Cover key writing-process topics in blog
I covered a couple of key writing topics this month, namely themes and story structure. I'm looking forward to delving more into this in the following months as well as covering more reader topics here as well.
